🇹🇭🇰🇭 Shards of Stone, River of Blood
Two neighbors stand, where ancient lines are drawn,
Divided by a map from a dawn long gone.
Cambodia, Thailand: on a common ground,
Yet in the dusty earth, no peace is found.
It is a quarrel over shards of stone,
Where a colonial hand marked out the zone.
A border 800 kilometers long,
Where history declares the other wrong.
The cannons boom, the heavy shell is cast,
Ignoring all the treaties of the past.
For ancient temples rise on contested ground,
And bitter history makes a fearful sound.
The soldier falls, the farmer leaves his home,
A weary exodus, forced to blindly roam.
The children ask: "Why must this bloodshed start,
To claim a relic, tear a world apart?"
Let the old map be folded, put away.
Peace is richer than a single shrine,
And life is worth more than a disputed line.
Lay down the arms, before the rising sun,
Let the fighting cease, and let the peace be won.
